Narrative Medicine is the practice of discussing short health care related written works. It is a fantastic tool for fostering wellness and healthy workplace, and learning culture.
Our mission is to use stories to learn about and change the way we understand, teach, and practice medicine. We value collaboration, wellness and open curiosity. Our goal is to strengthen narrative competence amongst our teachers, residents, and students by providing a safe space to connect, learn, and thrive. Facilitators will lead Narrative Medicine exercises and discussions.
Our meetings will follow a similar format:
- Welcome and brief introductions
- Hands on activity and/or close reading
- Writing prompt & time to write
- Discussion either in large group, pairs, or small groups
- Wrap up and send off with a “Try This” activity
- Business meeting
- Closing remarks
Next Session – TBD
