Teacher Certificate Program 1: Focus on Foundational Teaching
The Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) 1 consists of 5 online workshops covering core topics in health professionals’ education. Although much of the content is broadly applicable across health programs, there are segments that are contextual to the MD Undergraduate Program. Each session is 1.5 hours and will accumulate toward a certificate of completion and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.
Teacher Certificate Program 2: Focus on Career Planning and Wellness
The Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) 2 consists of 5 online workshops for faculty members who teach in the MD Undergraduate Program. This program is targeted to physician (clinical) faculty members doing their teaching along side patient care to address needs identified by the MD clinical preceptors for support and development. Each session is 1.5 hours and will accumulate toward a certificate of completion.
Narrative Medicine
The program includes small facilitated groups for faculty to attend and practice Narrative Medicine.
1:1 Peer Coaching Program
The program provides pairs of teachers the opportunity to observe and discuss each other’s teaching.
A Day in the Life of a Preceptor
This novel program has been developed by family physicians, for family physicians. It is structured around how teaching is typically sequenced in a community-based office.
